The Lost Pets of Omaha Area Story

In July 2013, Cathy, our founder, spotted a lost dog and posted about it on Craigslist. The post caught the attention of someone who had lost their dog. The dog's owner, an over-the-road trucker from California, had stopped at a Wal-Mart in Gretna, Nebraska, for a break when his dog, Kuzik, ran away. Despite searching for several hours, the trucker had to adhere to a strict schedule and continue his journey.

Cathy stepped in to assist, taking on the task of following up on leads, coordinating communication, putting up posters, and organizing searches since the trucker had to depart. The search for Kuzik highlighted the need for similar support in communication, poster distribution, and search organization for many others. Consequently, in February 2014, Cathy established a Facebook page dedicated to posting about lost, found, and wandering pets.

In our first year, reaching 1,000 Facebook followers was a thrilling milestone. Since then, we've expanded to over 72,000 followers.
